I have to share the truth with you!

I was driving in my car last week when the state of our world weighed heavily on my heart. So many deny - no, rebel against God’s sovereignty and Jesus as the only way, truth, and life (John 14:6). I was overcome with sadness, as if I could feel just a small glimpse of God’s pain as He looks at the world.

I was also deeply struck by someone I listened to who said: “Just how much do you have to hate people not to share with them the truth about Jesus and life after death.” This thought has been haunting me ever since. So I want to share the truth with you.

I hear people putting God 'on hold' while they live their lives, as if being a child of God is a burden they’d rather avoid and as if our busy lives are more important than our salvation.

Listen to this beautiful gift God gives His children:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons (and daughters) by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.” Ephesians 1:3-6

Every spiritual blessing… He chose us… that we should be holy, without blame before Him… predestined us to adoption… accepted in the Beloved….  Only God can do this, only God can be this gracious, this loving! This is the God of the universe, yearning for you to have a relationship with Him, no matter who you are.

“God made Him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

Because of Jesus, who paid the price by dying on a cross, every sin you can think of, every pain humans can experience, every rejection, shame, illness, disease, temptation, addiction, thought - whatever you can come up with - He “became that sin” on the cross. Can you imagine that.  The One without sin, became sin. Jesus bore God’s wrath for all our sin and guilt so that we might become the righteousness of God.

This means that, in God’s eyes, we are divinely perfect - you and I can stand before God, spotless and blameless, as if I have never sinned. The price has been paid.

Let us not forget that while Jesus became sin, He was separated from His Father as He endured God’s wrath for every sin of every person in the world. The wrath our sins deserve was laid upon Jesus so that you and I might be free in Christ - not in the world, but in Christ.

Words escape me to express my awe, appreciation and how humbling God’s grace and love is. I don’t deserve His grace, love or the price He paid for me.

But, the world has to know this, don’t you agree? Even you, you have to be reminded of this.

This is a heartfelt call to everyone; a reminder to those who are children of God, yet something still feels missing.

This is for those who say, “I still believe in God, I know He is the only God, but…” (Fill in your own reasons for resisting Him, His sovereignty, His love, His call.)

This is for anyone who has not yet experienced the sweetness of true communion with Jesus.

This is for those who don’t know the power of the Holy Spirit.

This is for those who utters a prayer in the morning to soothe your conscience.

This is for those who only pray in emergencies, or when you want or need something from God.

This is for those who claim to be children of Christ, yet whose speech is often filled with swearing and inappropriate language or behaviour - making it difficult for the world to see any difference between you and those who do not know Him.

This is for everyone who believes your body and your life are your own, forgetting that you were bought at the highest price.

This is for everyone who keeps postponing a real relationship with God.

This is for those who are running from what they imagine to be a life of rules and restrictions, not realising that surrendering to Christ brings true freedom and the priceless gift He offers to all who confess, “Jesus is Lord.”

This is for those who have not yet experienced the “peace that surpasses all understanding.”

This is for everyone who incessantly fills their hearts and minds with empty, worldly distractions, yet drifts off to sleep when they try to read the Word of God - or who don’t even pick up the Bible anymore.

This is for everyone who is accumulating material possessions, becoming so attached to them that you believe your worth and significance come from what you own, rather than from who you have - Jesus Christ.

This is for everyone who, perhaps unknowingly, believes they are greater than God - those who rely entirely on their own strength, wisdom, and understanding.  To those for whom status has become their idol.

This is for anyone who has allowed status to take the place of God in their life.

It’s for those who chase after self-made success, look within themselves for ultimate truth, and live as though they are the masters of their own destiny, embracing the world’s mindset of self-reliance and self-exaltation. (Proverbs 3:5-7)

This is for everyone who believes there’s still plenty of time to accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour - those who imagine a dramatic, movie-like moment on your deathbed when you’ll finally surrender and give your life to Jesus, not realising that tomorrow is not promised.

I was there... I was one of those people who needed to hear this!

He is holy!

He is holy!

Read that again: He is holy!

Our excuses. Our rebellion. Our arrogance and denial of God’s sovereignty. Our constant bickering about what is true, while denying the only Truth. Our self-righteous attitudes and the audacity to believe that God must bend to our will - as if we will only choose Him if He meets our demands.

He loves you! He loves you with a love so deep that He willingly died on the cross for you so that you can be justified, sanctified, cleansed, forgiven, reconciled with God and be with Him for eternity.  He loves you so much that a life in Him means you are saved from hell.

And yet, we still treat the Holy One as an afterthought - someone we turn to only when it’s convenient, when we’re in need, when all else fails, or not at all.

He is God Almighty. He can do anything, change everything, and make all things new - in a moment. And He will.

Everything you know will come to an end, but there is life beyond this one.

I need you to hear me:

Enough….

Enough running. Enough resisting. Enough testing the mercy of our holy God.

Time is not yours to control, and grace is not yours to demand. The door of mercy stands open now, but it will not remain open forever.

I don’t know who is reading these words, but I have to share this truth with you. I know that, for some, these words may not fall softly on your ears or your soul - and your spirit may rebel against them.

May you turn to Him today. May you choose to surrender and receive everlasting life in Him the very moment you accept Jesus as your King. May you choose to lay down your pride, your excuses, your stubbornness, and the worldly distractions that are keeping you away from the only Truth.

I pray that you will open your heart to Life - Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
