Oh yes, you can!
Updated: Sep 19, 2020
I recently found myself in a moment filled with frustration, agitation and fatigue. To be truthful, I was painfully aware of the fact that I have chosen these feelings, despite my pursuit to constantly increase my consciousness. I realized I was allowing these feelings to drag me down a rabbit hole, yet, I willingly chose that path in that moment.I
Having been at a Conference at the time, a voice from the stage woke me from my self-pity and grabbed me by my mind when I heard him say “. . . change your energy”.
I did. My moment of self-pity ended abruptly when I chose a different attitude. I decided that I did not want to feel agitated and frustrated, so I chose a different kind of attitude. I was excited and somewhat surprised that I managed to switch my attitude in a wink of an eye.
Attitude, just like a sneeze, is contagious. Not only did I fill my mind with negative thoughts, I influenced those around me, directly and in a negative way.
Yes, this is a true story. Years of reading, informal research about the brain, the mind, choices and consciousness culminated in a moment, a single choice, and I changed my attitude.
I would like to challenge you to do the same. The next time you have negative thoughts and feelings, choose, choose a different path. Then, do it again, and again, and . . . again. Let it become a habit.
But first, we have to understand what an attitude is and how it transpires.
Caroline Leaf says: “An attitude is a cluster of thoughts with emotional flavour".
Another perspective from Joe Dispenza: “Your thoughts and feelings come from your past memories. If you think and feel a certain way, you begin to create an attitude. An attitude is a cycle of short-term thoughts and feelings experienced over and over again. Attitudes are shortened states of being. If you string a series of attitudes together, you create a belief. Beliefs are more elongated states of being and tend to become subconscious. When you add beliefs together, you create a perception. Your perceptions have everything to do with the choices you make, the behaviors you exhibit, the relationships you chose, and the realities you create.”
Your choices are immensely powerful!
I would love to hear your story.
Dare to be you, Uniquely You.
